CMA Funeral Report

The CMA – Conduct and Marketing Authority – completed an interim report following a Market Study into the funerals sector 6 months ago. Its initial findings show above inflation price rises for well over a decade in both mainly large corporate funeral companies and crematoria services. The scale of these price rises does not currently appear to be justified by cost increases or quality improvements. Some of it’s finding are; Families spend between £3,000 and £5,000 organising a funeral. Families could save over £1,000 by looking at a range of choices in their local area. SANDS have created a Bereavement Support App for anyone who has experienced the death of a baby The app aims to help bereaved parents and families to find the right information and support at the right time. The app can also be used by healthcare professionals, who would like to know how best to support bereaved parents and their families. The Child Bereavement Charity exists to support anyone affected by the death of a baby, to improve the bereavement care received by parents and families, and to influence policy makers and promote research to reduce the number of babies dying. Shenstone 10K

Running 10,000 meters in 29-degree heat pushing twins around in a pushchair on a Sunday doesn’t sound like everyone’s cup of tea, but Lee Solomon and his wife Niqui did just that on Sunday 8th July 2018 to raise money and awareness for John Taylor Hospice. It was the Shenstone 10k Fun Run on Sunday 8th July, the race started at 11:00am and the local crowds gathered to cheers on the hundreds of people who took part. People from all walks of life, all age groups and abilities took on the scenic route around the beautiful Shenstone countryside. Baby Twins to Complete Shenstone 10k Fun Run

Lee Solomon, Funeral Director at Lilies Funeral Directors, is taking part in the Shenstone 10k Fun Run on Sunday 8th July with his wife, Niqui Solomon, and twin boys, Alexander and Theodore. Alexander (Xander) and Theodore (Teddy) will only be 5 months old when the run takes place so they will be in their pushchair, making this run a lot harder for Dad who will be pushing them. This is the first time Lee will have pushed his boys in their sports pushchair the distance of 10k, he is hoping to complete the course in 60 minutes but he is a bit unsure as he has never ran with the boys for longer than 2 kilometers before.
