Local Funeral Home Take Time To Help The Next Generation

“Working with the local community to help and support is one of Lilies Funeral Directors business objectives” said Lee Solomon, owner of Lilies Funeral Directors, he continued on to say “we do this by taking every opportunity we can to help people in the areas we serve”.

Lee Solomon of Lilies Funeral Directors will be helping two local schools by taking the time out of his day to talk to their students, the 29-year-old business owner will be talking to the pupils about what it is like to run your own company and the path he took after taking his GCSE’s in 2005.

The two schools Mr Solomon will be attending are Holly Lodge High School and Sutton Coldfield Grammar School, he will talk to the pupils about the different paths people can take from school and the wide variety of options available to them. Mr Solomon will also focus on the path he took, from working in the local fruit and veg shop in Sutton Coldfield Town Centre to finding himself in door to door sales and then how he gained the experience and took the opportunities available to him to be able to start his first business, Lilies Funeral Directors.

A quote from Lee “I didn’t have a clue what I wanted to do when I was a child, I didn’t know if I wanted to go to University and I couldn’t have predicted I would have my own business at the age of 26. If a teenager knows what they want to do when they are at school they are one of the luckiest people in the world as they can focus on achieving what they want, if you don’t know what you want to do then you have to focus and work hard at every potential opportunity that comes along as you don’t know if you could be potentially missing out on the right path for you”.

Lilies Funeral Directors are in the process of planning their yearly ‘company community service’, every member of staff can take a day out of work to help the local community. So far the Sutton Coldfield based funeral home have planned a gardening day at a local care home, talks with schools and a number of sporting events to raise money for John Taylor Hospice (a local hospice).
